Gideon Report

Gideon Media Arts ConferenceWell, we are back from the 5-day Gideon Media Arts Conference.

When Monique and I decided to go to the Gideon this year, it was a big commitment for us financially. We honestly were worried if it was going to be worth it.

Well, let me tell you.

We had such a great time! Every day was packed with great informative workshops and lots of quality time with tons of great people. This was easily one of the best investments in our future we have ever made. We will definitely be going back next year.

We also had a film in the short film competition. FORGIVE ME was nominated for best short film, and Travis Ammons was nominated for best actor.

FORGIVE ME won runner-up best short film (which I believe was out of 25 to 30 entries, so still not too shabby!), and I am very pleased to announce that Travis WON for BEST ACTOR! Congratulations to Travis.

But even more than the awards, the relationships that we made are by far the most valuable thing we have come away with. Thanks to Rodney Marett and all the Gideon faculty for hosting such a great event.

“Forgive Me” Austin Update

Posted: 10th June 2010 by Clayton in Film News

The screening of FORGIVE ME at the Alamo Drafthouse was a great success. I estimate that we had around 120 people at the screening, many of which were some of my family members who have previously been unable to attend one of my film screenings.

Travis Ammons and I had a great time answering questions after the show (who knew he was such a comedian?).

I just want to say thanks again to Jamee Kennedy and all the great folks at the Grace Arts Project for all of their hard work to make this event happen. it was definitely a blessing to me and we hope it was a blessing to those who attended!

“Forgive Me” Screening at Alamo Drafthouse

Posted: 4th May 2010 by Clayton in Film News

As winner of the 2010 Attic Film Fest Best Film Award, “Forgive Me” will have a special screening at a really cool indy film venue called the Alamo Drafthouse. It’s one of those cinemas where you get to order real food and drinks while you watch the show!

They asked me if I liked the idea of also screening the winner of the Best Music Video, and I enthusiastically said yes! “Amos Story” is a great song, a great music video and just a great story. You can learn more about this song here.

Travis Ammons – who recently was nominated for Best Actor for his role in Forgive Me – will also be coming to the screening and him and I will be doing a Q&A after the show.

So me, Travis, Aaron Ivey (Musician) and Jeremy Rodgers (director of “Amos Story”) will all be on-hand at the event to hang out and answer questions and chit chat. Please come if you can. It will be a lot of fun. Don’t miss it!
